I'm in a bit of a slump at the moment, but it could be worse. The tail end of last week was pretty poor mileage-wise. Wednesday was my yoga workout in the morning and then I pushed myself out the door that afternoon for a short three miler with Baby. While two workouts in one day sounds good, the next three days were exercise-free. I just didn't have the desire to run or do much of anything. So I waited it out and decided to get out there on Sunday and just see what would happen. The weather was decent, but my feet were dragging and I called it quits just shy of six miles (5.75). But at least that ended the drought. I also did my second strength session of the week, but it was meager and not my best work. Yesterday was a little better with six and a quarter at a decent pace, and today was another yoga workout.
In more exciting news, K and C of Team Stick ran Philly this year, which was Sunday. So I lived vicariously through their race adventures, reminiscing my own experience with Philly two years ago. I'm pleased to say that they both ran excellent races, and it was fun for me hear how it all went down. I think that seeing their results helped me get my butt out there on Sunday and run something respectable. They covered 26.2 miles; the least I could do was cover the 6.2. Congrats, girls!! I am so proud of you both ;)
So where do we go from here? I'm signed up for a Turkey Trot on Thursday - the same one I've done several times in the past. (2010, 2008, and 2007). This year I'm planning to run it with Baby, but that will be a game day decision. And I'm hoping to even out the turkey feast on Friday with a solid run and then maybe do something decent this weekend. Winter is coming and I have to take advantage of the clear streets and sidewalks while I still can. Soon they will be covered in snow and ice and temps will be arctic.
